Because we believe hankr brings an enormous amount of value to our user's everyday lives, it has always been our goal to expand into more markets. Honestly we're just bored with that classic dead-end conversation that usually goes along the lines of...
"What are you in the mood for?"
"I don't care, what are you in the mood for?"
... and we want to try to eliminate this hassle- all together - for everyone, not just Milwaukeeans (shoutout to Milwaukee, the hankr OG).
When deciding which market to expand to after finding success in Milwaukee, Madison seemed like the most fitting next step. John, a hankr co-founder, is a loyal and happy Madtown resident, and it really is only a hop, skip and a jump away from our home base.
Without further ado, we would like to introduce you to hankr Madison! Since quietly launching in Madison in September, we have been fortunate enough to work with around a dozen amazing Madison restaurants and counting.
We wanted to show Madison some love, so we've compiled a list of Madison dishes we can't stop drooling over.
Fig & Prosciutto Flatbread from Bonfyre American Grille
This delicate flatbread is topped with prosciutto, fig jam, caramelized onions, arugula, Parmesan, goat cheese, mozzarella and then perfectly finished with a balsamic glaze drizzle.
Mushroom al Ajillo from Barollo Wine Bar
Barollo Wine Bar has perfected this mushroom-y, garlic-y rich dish, with each bite leaving you begging for another.
Moules et Frites from Jacs Dining and Taphouse
The mussels are served in a broth of chardonnay, garlic, butter, lemon and herbs, which makes for the perfect accompaniment to the baguette and cone of frites. Dunk away!
Steak Frites from Brasserie V
Brasserie V has perfected this classic French combo. The 12-ounce Flat Iron Steak is topped with a rich Cabernet sauce, which perfectly enhances the flavors.
Mile High Wrap from Barriques
The best way to start your day is with a Barriques wrap. They've got a few breakfast wraps to choose from, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. We're crushin' on the aged cheddar/green pepper/ham combo in this Mile High wrap.
Charleston Shrimp and Grits from Julep
Julep prides themselves of serving up Southern goodness, and they don't miss the mark with this dish. This classic combo is served with Tasso gravy, onions and peppers.
Doner Kebab from O.S.S.
How could you not love O.S.S.? They kill it with both traditional and quirky takes on craft sausage. We can't stop thinking about this original recipe Turkish lamb and chicken sausage, which is topped with fresh cabbage slaw, diced tomatoes, onions, chili-mayo and a house-made cucumber yoghurt sauce.
Seared Great Lakes Whitefish from Oliver's Public House
This Whitefish dish shines through the perfectly seared crust and the rich white wine pan jus. The wild rice, roasted brassicas and spinach ornament the fish incomparably.
Black and Bleu Caesar Salad from The Brass Ring
This is no ordinary Caesar salad, folks. The Brass Ring piles their Black and Bleu Caesar high with - you guessed it - Bleu cheese, grilled Sirloin steak, parmesan crumbles, crumbled bacon, sliced cherry tomatoes and croutons.
Crawfish Etouffee from Double S BBQ
Thank goodness Double S BBQ owner, Shon, became familiar with this dish from growing up in East Texas. He masterfully brought the favors from the South (that so many try to recreate) to Madison with this crawfish dish. The dish is served with a heavenly slice of cornbread.
Well, we've reached the end of our list. Please, don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!
As you can see, Madison's got a strong starting lineup. Check out these dishes for yourself to see what all of the hankr hype is about, and see all of the other mouthwateringly-good Madison dishes we're serving up on the hankr app today!
